Jeff B. (last name withheld) a self-proclaimed expert and Internet junkie is
being sued by WWASP for unfair business tactics and for making false and defamatory statements against WWASP Schools and Programs while trying to assist a competitor. Jeff B. has made hundreds if not thousands of negative statements about WWASP Schools and Programs on the Internet and in e-mails. He has also contacted numerous news organizations trying to get them to run negative articles. (The following is an overview of Jeff B.’s recent deposition in this lawsuit, it is not verbatim nor complete, it is just a witness’s perspective overview of his testimony. For a complete copy of the deposition email: ken@wwasp.com and request Jeff B. Deposition) Under Oath, Jeff B. admitted that he has never visited a WWASP School or program even though he has been invited to do so by Ken Kay. He further admitted that he has never even visited any kind of Program or School for struggling Teens. He also admitted that he has no training, education, or experience that would qualify been to understand the needs of, the care for, or the process of handling struggling teens. He also has never had any children and therefore. He would not understand what it is like to have a son or daughter needing this type of help. He admits to trying to sway parents away from WWASP Schools and Programs while referring them to a competitor that his friend/associate receives fees from. When confronted with evidence that programs he was recommending have had allegations of abuse, he claimed to not know anything about it. Jeff B. has contacted numerous government officials in order to create concern among government officials. In an e-mail sent to Jeff B. by the Us Embassy in Mexico in response to claims he has made against an affiliated School, it stated: Date: April 11, 2003 Subject: Casa by the Sea Dear Sir: Consular officers for the American Consulate have made numerous surprise visits to Casa over the last several years, interviewed its teens in private, and contacted the parent. The results have consistently been the same: All teens (as well as the parents) have denied the allegations of physical abuse alleged to have occurred at Casa. The allegations have always been made by third parties, never by the teens or a custodial parent… American Consulate General, Tijuana When asked why he would still post claims of abuse after receiving this e-mail outlining the Independent Review by the US State Department. He stated that he has never had much confidence in government officials. Jeff B. admitted that he has no training, education, or work experience that would qualify him to know, understand, and identify Abuse. He admitted that he has posted on the Internet claims of abuse even though he does not know of one single case of substantiated abuse at any WWASP School or Program. He also admitted that he had no factual basis to make such claims, he based them on Internet Postings. Under further questioning, he readily admitted that Internet postings are not reliable and falsehoods and inaccuracies run rampant on the Internet. He also acknowledged that any negative posting from a former student could be a fabrication and that the student may have a long history of lying, deception, or dishonesty. Nonetheless, he says he believes the few negative postings over the numerous positive letters and postings from parents and students, because he believes the positive ones are “ Brainwashed “. Jeff B. acknowledged that each of the School and Programs have numerous Professionals at the facility on a daily basis including Teachers, Therapists, Nurses, Visiting Doctors and Others who are under strict professional and legal obligations to report any abuse or mistreatment. He admitted that he did not know of a single report being filed. Jeff B. has never been married or had children but believes that parents should not have the right to get help for their teens unless the Teen can challenge the parent’s decision with a government agency. (Apparently, he believes that the government generally knows better than parents what is best for their children. Interesting belief for a person who has never had much confidence in government officials). |
